Embroidering Nature – A Creative Slow Art Workshop

Join us for a 3-hour beginner-friendly embroidery class where we’ll slow down and reconnect through stitching. You’ll learn the basics of embroidery using a custom kit inspired by nature photos taken during Barbara’s travels. The experience includes a practice hoop to explore foundational stitches, and a final embroidery piece featuring a printed photo to personalize with thread. Come as you are, all materials provided.

What’s included:

  • Two embroidery hoops

  • A 6” hoop to learn and practice basic stitches

  • An 8” hoop featuring a printed nature photo to embroider as your final

  • piece

  • 6 colors of embroidery floss selected to match your design

  • One needle, ready to use

  • A printed zine-style guide with step-by-step instructions, stitch diagrams, and inspiration

  • A poetic postcard to set your intention and take home as a keepsake

  • All materials are included – just bring yourself and your curiosity

What you’ll learn:

 How to prepare your hoop and thread your needle

 4–5 basic stitches (running, backstitch, satin stitch, french knot, etc.)

 How to transfer your creativity onto fabric

 Tips to continue your embroidery practice at home

We’ll begin with a warm introduction to embroidery, take time to practice the foundational stitches, and then slowly move into stitching your own nature-inspired piece. This is a space to pause, create with your hands, and reconnect with yourself.You’ll leave not only with your own artwork, but also a deeper sense of calm, creative confidence, and maybe even a new favorite hobby.
