Polaroid Frame Handbuilding at Mya Brooklyn
We are so excited to be bringing our workshops back to Mya Brooklyn for a creative, hands-on evening of clay and analog photography! Hosted at Mya's beautiful space at 46 Roebling St, this workshop blends the art of handbuilding ceramics with live photography, all in a relaxed, community-focused setting.
The session begins with New York-based photographer Jesse Warner, who will capture a classic Polaroid portrait of you as you arrive. Throughout the class, Jesse will float around the space documenting the candid, behind-the-scenes moments of the creative process.
With your Polaroid print in hand, you will learn the fundamentals of ceramic handbuilding to create our most popular project: custom ceramic Polaroid frames. We will guide you step-by-step through rolling, cutting, and shaping raw clay from scratch. Whether you want to create a sleek, architectural frame or a playful, wavy design, you will have enough time and materials to complete one or two custom pieces.
No prior pottery or clay experience is necessary.
What is Included:
All clay, tools, and materials
Live Polaroid photography by Jesse Warner (plus candid process shots)
Full studio firing and glazing services for up to two completed frames
Food & Drink:
Mya Brooklyn’s full kitchen and bar will be open throughout the workshop. Attendees are welcome to order specialty coffee, wines, or food items separately to enjoy while creating.

Policy:
Due to highly limited seating and prep required for materials, all ticket sales are final. There are no cancellations or refunds. However, if you find you can no longer make it, you are welcome to gift or sell your ticket to a friend to take your spot!
Finished frames will be taken back to our studio to be dried, bisque fired, glazed, and final fired. Pieces will be ready for pickup at the mya bk a few weeks after the workshop.
